Real Betis midfield overhaul: Leicester City ace Ndidi on the radar of La Liga club
Published: June 30, 2025
Spanish side Real Betis have set their sights on Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as they prepare a major midfield revamp ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
Ndidi, who extended his contract with Leicester City last summer, impressed during the Foxes' campaign with five assists in 28 Premier League appearances.
However, Leicester's relegation has cast doubts over his future at the King Power Stadium, despite his consistent performances.
The 28-year-old Nigerian international has attracted interest from several European clubs.
According to the Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla, Real Betis have made initial enquiries about Ndidi's availability.
The club is reportedly impressed by his ball-winning ability, defensive discipline, and experience—qualities they believe could help them compete both in La Liga and the UEFA Europa League next season.
Betis, who are aiming to bolster their midfield depth, see Ndidi as a natural fit for their style of play and a key piece in their rebuild as they seek to improve on last season's performances.
However, the £9 million release clause—activated by Leicester's relegation—makes him an appealingly affordable option for top-flight clubs.
As the summer transfer window intensifies, Ndidi will be aiming to secure a move to a top-tier club to continue competing at the highest level and showcasing his abilities.
