Arokodare reports for pre-season training at Racing Genk amid links with Fulham

Genk have welcomed Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare back to training this week, even as speculation around his future continues to intensify, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

After an extended break following international commitments, the 24-year-old striker returned to Belgium to complete routine medical checks at Genk.

Arokodare enjoyed a remarkable season last term, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 21 goals in 40 appearances and netting 23 times in all competitions.

His prolific form earned him the prestigious Ebony Shoe award, presented annually to the best player of African descent in Belgium, and a deserved place in the league’s Team of the Season.

Despite his heroics for Genk, questions remain over how long he will stay at the Cegeka Arena.

Interest in Arokodare is significant, with several European clubs monitoring his situation.

Among the keenest suitors is Premier League side Fulham, who are planning a move to bring the Nigerian sharpshooter to Craven Cottage.

Fulham manager Marco Silva is eager to strengthen his attacking options, hoping to add more firepower to a squad aiming to build on last season’s mid-table finish and challenge for a European spot.

Should the transfer materialise, Fulham could field a compelling Nigerian trio next season, with Arokodare joining international teammates Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.
