Sky Sport Italy: Napoli could target Lookman if Udinese star is signed instead of Liverpool forward

Italian Serie A side Napoli may rekindle their pursuit of Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman if their alternative transfer plans fall through, according to Sky Sport Italy.
Lookman has been in impressive form since joining Atalanta in 2022, scoring consistently and proving to be one of Serie A’s most effective wide forwards.
The Serie A champions have been previously linked with a move for the Nigerian forward this summer.
However, despite initial interest, reports suggest Napoli have shifted focus away from the Super Eagles star and are now targeting Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez to reinforce their frontline.
Napoli are reportedly planning to strengthen their attacking options, particularly in the wide and forward areas, to support manager Antonio Conte ahead of the 2025/2026 campaign.
However, Sky Sport reports that Napoli may revisit the option of signing Ademola Lookman following Victor Osimhen's impending move to Galatasaray, a transfer that has boosted the club’s financial capacity in the transfer market.
With Osimhen’s departure to Galatasaray on the horizon, the Azzurri may opt for a more cost-effective move by targeting Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca—allowing them to allocate resources to facilitate Lookman's signing.
This approach could see Napoli drop interest in the more expensive duo of Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Bologna’s Dan Ndoye.
As the summer transfer window intensifies, Lookman’s future remains one to watch closely, with Napoli now appearing to circle back as potential suitors.
