'Has the most offers' – Getafe coach addresses Uche's future amid Italian offers and PL links
Published: July 10, 2025
Getafe head coach José Bordalás has confirmed that the club has received inquiries regarding Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche, as speculation grows over a potential move to the Premier League this summer.
Uche, who joined Getafe ahead of the 2024-2025 season, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the La Liga side.
The 22-year-old registered four goals and six assists in 33 league appearances, and has been linked with several English clubs, including Everton, Newcastle United, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa.
Getafe president Ángel Torres revealed that Uche has offers from Serie A clubs, but he's prioritizing a move to the English Premier League
In quotes relayed by Estadio Deportivo, Bordalás addressed the rumours and suggested the club has already begun preparations in case Uche departs.
"They have asked about several in the middle. That's why we have reinforced that position," Bordalás said.
"We thought that Uche, who has the most offers, could be one of them. We don't want to touch the two starters."
The comment indicates that Getafe are open to Uche's departure, especially given the strong external interest and the club's proactive recruitment in midfield.
Uche made his senior debut for Nigeria during the Unity Cup tournament in May and is reportedly keen on testing himself at a higher level to continue his rapid development.
As the summer transfer window intensifies, all eyes will be on the midfielder as he prepares to make a decision on his future ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
