Lookman among the first players to arrive for Atalanta medicals despite transfer links
Published: July 14, 2025
Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman was among the first players to arrive for Atalanta's pre-season medical tests, even as speculation continues to swirl about his future at the club.
The Nigerian forward, who played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s 2024/25 campaign, was spotted at the Habilita medical center near the Curva Nord entrance of the Gewiss Stadium as the Nerazzurri squad began preparations for the new season.
Lookman enjoyed a stellar season in Bergamo, registering 15 goals and 5 assists in 31 league appearances — contributions that helped Atalanta secure a coveted Champions League spot for the 2025/26 season.
His form has not gone unnoticed, and reports in Italy suggest both Juventus and Napoli are monitoring his situation closely.
Despite the rumours, the 27-year-old has shown professionalism and commitment by returning promptly for the club’s preseason program.
According to Italian outlet, Corriere dello Sport, Gianluca Scamacca was the first to report for duty, with Lookman arriving shortly after.
The duo was later joined by Atalanta’s new signing, Honest Ahanor, who is expected to add depth to the squad this season.
The players underwent physical and medical evaluations today before heading to the club’s training retreat at the "Bortolotti" center in Zingonia, which kicks off on Monday, July 15.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, Atalanta will be keen to hold on to Lookman as they prepare for a demanding season across multiple fronts.
