Inter Milan identify Man Utd, Chelsea and Juventus forwards as alternative to Lookman
Published: July 17, 2025
Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan are working on a deal to sign reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.
The Super Eagles star has already agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri, who are preparing a formal offer to prise him away from Atalanta.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Atalanta are demanding €50 million from Serie A rivals, while clubs outside Italy have been quoted a lower figure of €40 million.
Despite the price gap, Inter remain confident due to a verbal agreement reached with Lookman’s entourage last summer, which set his valuation at €40 million.
The Nerazzurri are prepared to move forward on those terms and have made it clear they will not increase their offer.
Should the deal collapse, Inter have identified alternative targets, including Juventus winger Nico González, Manchester United's Jadon Sancho and Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku.
Sancho, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea, is not part of Manchester United's plans, while Nkunku is reportedly among several players listed for sale by the Fifa Club World Cup champions.
Lookman, a product of Charlton Athletic's academy, has been a standout performer for Atalanta, with 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances since joining the club three years ago.
He played a pivotal role in their triumphant 2024 Europa League campaign and is under contract until June 30, 2027.
With personal terms already agreed, the 27-year-old is hopeful that Inter Milan and Atalanta can reach a swift resolution to complete his switch to the San Siro.
