Fabrizio Romano provides transfer updates on Super Eagles marquee forwards Osimhen and Lookman
Published: July 18, 2025
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Turkish giants Galatasaray are closing in on a blockbuster deal for Super Eagles marquee forward Victor Osimhen, while Serie A side Inter Milan have seen their opening bid for reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman knocked back by Atalanta.
Romano reported that Galatasaray and Napoli have reached the final stages of negotiations for Osimhen after holding positive talks on Thursday, July 17.
The deal is expected to be worth €75 million, split into €40 million upfront and €35 million to be paid by the end of 2026.
Interestingly, the agreement will reportedly include a clause preventing Galatasaray from selling Osimhen to any Italian club for the next two years.
Final discussions are ongoing regarding bank guarantees and a sell-on clause, with both parties believed to be optimistic about closing the deal soon.
Meanwhile, Lookman's future remains unresolved, with Romano confirming that Inter Milan's €40 million bid for the Nigerian winger has been rejected by Atalanta.
Atalanta are holding out for at least €50 million and are unwilling to negotiate with Italian clubs below that threshold.
Despite Lookman's desire to leave and hope that the club will facilitate his exit, Atalanta are maintaining a firm stance.
No green light has been given, and Inter Milan will need to return with an improved proposal if they are to land the 27-year-old, who starred for Atalanta last season.
Osimhen has registered 94 goals involvements (76 goals, 18 assists) since landing in Italy, while Everton old boy Lookman has directly participated in 77 goals.
