Done deal: Super Falcons-eligible goalkeeper returns to Portsmouth after release by Brighton
Published: July 18, 2025
With a statement on the official website, Women's Super League 2 side Portsmouth have announced the signing of 2022 Flamingoes invitee Comfort Erhabor.
The goalkeeper has returned to Pompey for a second spell following her release by WSL side Brighton & Hove Albion.
Erhabor spent the second half of the 2024-2025 season on loan at Portsmouth in search of first team opportunities.
The 20-year-old has signed a one-year deal with Portsmouth, with a club option for the 2026-2027 season.
During her time with the Seagulls, she also enjoyed loan spells at Hibernian and Plymouth Argyle.
Speaking on the permanent acquisition of the Super Falcons hopeful, Pompey boss Jay Sadler stated: "We’re really pleased to welcome Comfort back to the club on a permanent deal.
"She’s a goalkeeper with real character, and she showed glimpses of her potential during her short loan spell with us last season.
"Comfort has all the tools to grow into a top goalkeeper, and her presence will bring healthy competition to our goalkeeping department."
Erhabor was part of Nigeria U17s team pre-tournament training camp ahead of the 2022 Fifa U17 Women's World Cup.
In January 2024, Erhabor took a major step in her career by signing her first professional contract with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Dutch-born goalkeeper represented West Ham United's academy team in the past.
