Arsenal boss Arteta runs the rule over Ibrahim ahead of Emirates Cup clash v Athletic Club
Published: August 09, 2025
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta assessed promising Nigerian midfielder Ibrahim during the club's final training session ahead of their Emirates Cup clash against Athletic Club.
According to youth football expert Jeorge Bird, the 17-year-old trained with the first team at the Sobha Realty Training Centre in London Colney on Friday.
Ibrahim, who missed Arsenal's pre-season tour of Singapore and Hong Kong as well as the friendly against Villarreal, has been with the Gunners since 2016 after joining from grassroots side AFC All Stars.
He signed a scholarship deal with the north London outfit for the 2024-2025 campaign.
A versatile player capable of operating at fullback, Ibrahim is composed in possession and adept in one-on-one situations.
Last season, he registered one goal in 28 appearances across the U18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League and earned his first call-up to a Premier League 2 fixture against West Ham United in February, though he did not feature.
Although Ibrahim has represented the Young Lions at U15 level, he is not provisionally cap-tied to England.
