Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with 100% certainty that there is no truth to claims linking Manchester United wonderkid Chido Obi with a move to French side OGC Nice at this time.

Reports on social media suggesting that Nice were in negotiations to sign the Denmark U21 international of Nigerian descent on a season-long loan are wide of the mark, with this website understanding that no such talks have taken place.

Despite United bolstering their attack this summer with the arrivals of Benjamin Šeško, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha, raising concerns Obi could slip down the pecking order, the teenager has remained part of the first-team set-up throughout pre-season. 

He featured in friendlies against Leeds United, West Ham United and Bournemouth last month, but was an unused substitute in subsequent matches against Everton and Fiorentina.

The 17-year-old, who joined United from Arsenal in October last year, made his senior debut against Tottenham Hotspur in February 2025, rewarded for a string of standout performances for the club’s youth sides. 

He ended last season with eight first-team appearances in official competitions.

At youth level, Obi netted 14 goals in 15 matches across the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League. 

His standout displays included hat-tricks against Nottingham Forest in the U18 Premier League and Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup.

Obi has been handed the number 32 shirt at Manchester United for the 2025–26 campaign.
