Super Falcons-eligible goalkeeper extends contract with European champions Arsenal

Super Falcons-eligible goalkeeper Chiemela Ude has committed her future to Arsenal, signing a new deal that will keep her at the European champions until the end of the 2026–2027 season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The English-Nigerian shot-stopper has also earned a promotion to the club's U21 side and was included in the travelling squad for their pre-season training camp in Kamloops, Canada.

Arsenal will be encouraged by Ude's decision to stay, having already seen Nigerian duo Ayomide and Omotara Junaid depart ahead of the new campaign.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Ude wrote: "Continuing my journey with the club for another two seasons.

"Proud to be part of the team and ready to keep pushing, learning, and growing every step of the way.

"Will definitely miss a few of my very good friends who’ve moved on, wishing them all the best on their journeys.”

Ude was part of the Arsenal side that lifted the Capital Women’s Senior Cup last season and also featured in the FA PGA Champions Cup.

She joined Arsenal in the 2021-2022 season, with the Gunners beating London rivals Chelsea, West Ham United and Millwall to her signature.

The 2008-born goalkeeper became provisionally cap-tied to England after appearing in a UEFA Women's U17 Championship qualifier against the Faroe Islands in October 2024.
