With a statement on the official website, League of Ireland Premier Division side Sligo Rovers have announced the signing of Super Eagles-eligible right-back Edwin Agbaje.
Agbaje has joined Rovers on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Championship outfit Ipswich Town.
He links up with Rovers having penned a deal until the end of the current season and joins subject to international transfer clearance.
During his five years with the Tractor Boys, he earned four first-team call-ups, making two appearances, including a full debut against Cambridge United in the EFL Trophy.
He was outstanding in the 2022-2023 season, during which he made his professional debut and won the Academy Player of the Year award.
In search of first team opportunities, he spent time on loan at Yeovil Town and Sutton United.
Agbaje started out with hometown club Edenderry Town, before making the switch to Shamrock Rovers' youth team at 14.
Subject to the issuance of an International Transfer Certificate, the defender will be available for selection on Friday night when Sligo Rovers do battle with Bohemians.
Agbaje is the seventh player signed by manager John Russell in the summer transfer window.
