'Available' – Chelsea coach confirms Tosin in contention to make season debut v West Ham
Published: August 21, 2025
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Tosin Adarabioyo is fit and available for selection ahead of Friday's Premier League meeting with West Ham United at the London Stadium.
The centre-back missed last weekend's opening-day fixture against Crystal Palace due to a minor ankle issue but trained fully at Cobham on Wednesday, August 20.
His involvement puts him in contention to make his first appearance of the new season in the London derby.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Maresca admitted he was surprised that news of Tosin's recovery had not been more widely reported.
"Tosin is available for tomorrow,” the Italian said at the pre-match press conference.
"I’m a little bit surprised because last week when he wasn’t available, the day before it was everywhere [in the media] that he wasn’t available.
"Now I don’t know why you don’t know he is available! But yes, he is available."
The trip to East London marks Chelsea's first away game of the campaign as Maresca looks to build momentum following the opening weekend.
Tosin, who joined the Blues last season, made 15 Premier League starts in 2024–25, scoring once and providing one assist.
