Agreement in place, medical next: Boniface on verge of sealing AC Milan move from Leverkusen

AC Milan are on the verge of completing the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, with a verbal agreement reportedly reached between all parties involved.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is structured as an initial €5 million loan, with a €24 million buy option that is not mandatory, and Boniface would sign a contract running until 2030.

The next step involves the player undergoing medical tests before the signing of formal contracts.

The move is understood to be motivated by AC Milan’s imminent need to replace Swiss forward Noah Okafor, who has joined Leeds United.

While the loan and potential transfer fees have been agreed upon between Milan and Bayer Leverkusen.

Boniface, 24, remains under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2028 but has seen his role reduced under new head coach Erik ten Hag, who has preferred Czech striker Patrick Schick as the team’s focal point.

The reduced playing time, particularly since January, has reportedly influenced the striker’s desire to move, as he looks to secure regular minutes ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The transfer, once finalized, would mark a significant addition to AC Milan’s attacking options, providing depth and versatility as they prepare for the new season.

Both Milan and Boniface’s camp are reportedly eager to reach an agreement in the coming days, with the expectation that the deal could be completed shortly after the completion of the medicals.
