Atalanta coach Ivan Juric addressed the ongoing situation with Ademola Lookman following the club's 4-0 Serie A victory over Lecce in Bergamo, shedding light on the player's continued absence and the expectations for his squad ahead of their Champions League campaign.
Speaking to DAZN,via Inter News24, Juric suggested that Lookman is unlikely to make his season debut in the upcoming Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
"Lookman in Paris? I don't think so, the situation is unpleasant and not good," the Croatian coach stated.
The comments underline the delicate nature of Lookman's current position at the club, which comes amid unresolved transfer negotiations with Inter Milan.
Juric emphasized the importance of commitment and motivation among his players, signaling that the squad must consist of individuals ready to give their all for the team.
"We need ready guys who want to give their all for the shirt, " he said, reinforcing the standards he expects from every member of the squad.
While acknowledging Lookman's talent and importance, the coach made it clear that team spirit and dedication take precedence over individual considerations.
Lookman, who has been at the center of a transfer saga this summer, continues to await clarity regarding his future.
Despite interest from Inter Milan, negotiations stalled before the summer transfer window closed for business, leaving the 27-year-old forward sidelined for crucial matches.
Juric's statements suggest that Atalanta is prioritizing squad cohesion and commitment over individual transfer disputes as they navigate a demanding schedule.
