Sevilla duo Adams and Ejuke return to team training before La Liga match against Alaves
Published: September 16, 2025
Nigerian attackers Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke have returned to team training ahead of Sevilla's La Liga clash against Alaves at the Mendizorroza Stadium.
Adams had been sidelined for Sevilla's last two matches against Girona and Elche after picking up a hamstring injury, while Ejuke suffered a similar setback during the 2-0 win over Girona, limping off just 18 minutes into the game.
According to the club's official website, both players rejoined the main group in Monday's session at the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios.
Their comeback is a major boost for manager Matías Almeyda, who is eager to see his side build on their recent upturn in form.
After a difficult start to the season, Sevilla are unbeaten in their last two outings — claiming a vital away win at Girona before drawing 2-2 with Elche at home last Friday.
For Adams, who was left out of Nigeria's 23-man squad for the September qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, regaining full fitness could be key to forcing his way back into the Super Eagles setup ahead of the October internationals.
Ejuke, meanwhile, will be looking to rediscover his sharpness and stake a stronger claim for a regular place in Almeyda's plans, having yet to record a goal or assist in the league this season.
