'We talked to him' – Juric insists Atalanta are focused on PSG not Lookman scandal

Atalanta coach Ivan Juric has sought to quell speculation surrounding Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman as the club prepares for their UEFA Champions League group stage opener against Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking to Sky Sport on the eve of the high-profile fixture, Juric insisted that the situation is being handled with composure and that the team remains focused on their European challenge.
"The Lookman scandal? We’re very calm, we talked to him and we’ve been clear," Juric said, as quoted by fcinter1908.
He stressed that the club’s priority lies firmly with their upcoming match rather than the ongoing controversy surrounding the Super Eagles forward.
"We’re only thinking about tomorrow's match,” he added, signaling his commitment to maintaining professionalism and unity within the squad.
Juric's remarks come amid heightened media attention after Lookman was omitted from Atalanta’s travelling squad for the clash at the Parc des Princes. T
he 27-year-old forward has been training separately following a failed summer move to Inter Milan, which has left tensions unresolved between player and club.
Despite the controversy, Juric emphasized that the team is united and determined to move past individual disputes.
Atalanta have confirmed a 23-man squad for their Champions League opener, with Juric making the decision to leave Lookman out.
The Nigerian international, who has yet to make his season debut, will watch from the sidelines as Atalanta seek to make an impact against defending champions PSG.
