Arsenal's Annous, Southampton's Akachukwu, Ipswich's Mendel-Idowu nominated for PL2 POTM
Published: October 06, 2025
Three players of Nigerian descent have been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month following their outstanding performances in September 2025.
Arsenal forward Andre Harriman-Annous, Southampton midfielder Romeo Akachukwu and Ipswich Town attacker Tudor Mendel-Idowu have been shortlisted for the monthly accolade.
Harriman-Annous enjoyed an impressive month, scoring in a dramatic comeback win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, featuring as a substitute in the victory over Derby County, and finding the net again in the Vertu Trophy triumph against Newport County.
Southampton U21s extended their unbeaten run in September with a win over Burnley and a thrilling draw against Manchester City.
Akachukwu scored and provided an assist against the Clarets, before bagging another assist in the six-goal thriller with the Citizens.
Mendel-Idowu starred as Ipswich Town won back-to-back games against Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League 2.
The Cobham product was on target against his former employers Chelsea on September 20 and a week later, he found the net in a 3-2 victory over Liverpool.
The winner of the award will be announced on Friday, with the shortlist also featuring Aaron Loupalo-Bi and Farhaan Ali-Wahid of Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion's Joe Belmont, and Tottenham Hotspur duo Luca Williams-Barnett and Rio Kyerematen.
