Lesotho v Nigeria: CS Sfaxien striker names two Super Eagles players to watch from 18 in camp

CS Sfaxien striker Emmanuel Ogbole has identified Tolu Arokodare and Benjamin Frederick as the Super Eagles players to watch in Nigeria's crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on Friday.

Ogbole expressed cautious optimism ahead of the encounter at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa.

"Well, we are supposed to win but football isn't judge by that, we get to watch and see," Ogbole told allnigeriasoccer.com.

"Then for the player, seriously I am going for tolu as my key player to watch and also of course our new star boy Benjamin Frederick."

The 22-year-old forward, who previously represented the Super Eagles B team during their CHAN qualification campaign, described playing for Nigeria as 'a dream come true'.

"Playing for Nigeria is always a dream come true for every Nigerian footballer. It was a great feeling honestly," he added.

Nigeria currently sits third in Group C with eleven points and faces a tough battle to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Despite the challenge, the Nigerian International remained confident in the team's resilience.

"I believe we can qualify even though it seems impossible. But that's why we are Super Eagles. We will fight till the end," he said.

The Super Eagles commenced training on Tuesday at the Ranch Hotel in Polokwane, with 18 players already in camp.

Those in camp include William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Chrisantus Uche, Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Terem Moffi, Moses Simon, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Frank Onyeka, Tolu Arokodare, Semi Ajayi, Stanley Nwabali, Adebayo Adeleye, Amas Obasogie, and Benjamin Frederick.

The team still awaits the arrivals of Zaidu Sanusi (Porto), Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi (New England Revolution), Akor Adams (Sevilla), and Olakunle Olusegun (Pari Nizhny Novgorod) ahead of Friday's fixture.
