Caicedo beats two Nigeria-eligible forwards to Chelsea's September Goal of the Month
Published: October 08, 2025
Nigeria-eligible attackers Tyrique George and Chizaram Ezenwata have missed out on Chelsea's September Goal of the Month, with the official website of the Premier League giants revealing that Moises Caicedo has won the monthly accolade for his impressive strike against Brentford.
Other contenders for the Goal of the Month were Cole Palmer, Harrison Murray-Campbell, Kobe Barbour, Facundo Buonanotte and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.
First team starlet Tyrique George, renowned for his flair and eye for the spectacular, was nominated for his outstanding strike in the Carabao Cup third round clash against Lincoln City.
2025 Flying Eagles invitee Ezenwata earned his nomination for a composed finish during Chelsea's U18 Premier League victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at Cobham Training Ground on September 20.
Caicedo claimed Chelsea's Goal of the Month award with a commanding 57 percent of the supporters' vote, edging out Cole Palmer, whose sublime first-time finish against Bayern Munich secured second place with 22 percent.
George rounded off the top three after polling 16 percent, while Ezenwata's audacious Panenka missed out on a podium finish.
George has been named in the Young Lions squad for the European U21 Championship qualifying matches against Moldova and Andorra in October.
Ezenwata is among seven teenagers of Nigerian descent called up for the U18s double header against France at St. George's Park, along with Owen Asemota, Lanre Awesu, Wesley Okoduwa, Landon Emenalo, Ife Ibrahim and Chinazaekpere Nwosu.
