Taye Taiwo Arrives Istanbul To Begin Talks With Besiktas
Published: December 29, 2012
Dynamo Kiev defender Taye Taiwo, who is the first choice of Besiktas for the left side of defense in the winter transfer market, arrived Istanbul on Friday to begin negotiations with the club, informs Turkey's most influential sports daily Fanatik.
If discussions between Taiwo and the hierarchy of The Black Eagles are positive, he would join the club on loan for the remainder of the season.
In case the parties don't agree, other alternatives being considered are Dusko Tosic(GençlerbirliÄi), Gökhan Süzen(Istanbul BB) and Iran international Ehsan Hajsafi, who plies his trade with Tractor Sazi.
In modern transfer market operations, the club where a player is on loan have the right of first refusal. In clear terms, Besiktas can purchase Taiwo outright from AC Milan on expiration of the loan deal sometime in June, 2013.
Taye Taiwo is under contract with AC Milan until the summer of 2014. Transfer market experts value him at around 4.5 million euros.
