Shodiya Returns From Injury With Goal For Birkirkara
Published: January 06, 2013
Birkirkara striker Shola Shodiya returned from injury to score a brace against Tarxien Rainbows in the Malta Premier League on Sunday. The 21 - year - old had been sidelined for more than two months with a groin complaint.
Afolabi Edward, UK licensed agent of Shodiya, has praised his ward after he scored the second and fourth goals in the 5-0 hammering of Tarxien Rainbows.
''Shola was out for about two months as a result of a groin injury. The coach of Birkirkara informed me last night through a text message that he is back to full fitness and should play a role in the upcoming matches in the league. Considering he had been out of action for a long time, I am delighted to see him score in only his first game,'' Afolabi Edward told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Shodiya, who played in the Europa League this season, has now scored 5 goals in 10 matches for Birkirkara.
