Published: April 18, 2013
The Chairman League Management Company, Nduka Irabor who was part of the guests that watched week 7 league match played at Lekan Salami Sport Complex Ibadan, where 3SC walloped Akwa United by 4 goals to 1 commended the attendance and attitude of Ibadan fans.
The LMC boss in his remark to newsmen after expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the spectators who turned out large to watch the match while praising the Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan South/West Local Government Hon. Taoheed Adeleke who he said was told used to buy 1,000 tickets and distribute it free to fans at every 3SC home match.
''I’m pleased with what I have seen here in Ibadan, the atmosphere is quite commendable and I must not failed to appreciate a Local Government boss who I was told buys tickets free to fans to watch match.
''Such is a welcome gesture that we will want other spirited people to emulate in moving our league forward,'' Irabor noted.
Also speaking was the Chairman Oyo State General Supporters Club, Oluwafemi Okikiolu who said Adeleke apart from the 1,000 free tickets has printed 10,000 match-fixtures which will be distributed free to everybody in the stand at the next home match of 3SC.
''Anybody that does good requires being praised and is not necessary that we know him personally, so as the Chairman of Oyo State General Supporters Club, I’m grateful to him and we will all be praying for his success.
''As they say that all fingers are not equal, many people want to watch match live but don’t have financial power to do so and that was why you will see some people climbing poles and walls outside the main-bowl to watch matches, it shows that they have interest to watch match but not buoyant to buy tickets, that is we appreciate the council boss gesture more,'' Oluwafemi explained.
He added that ''continental ticket is what we want from this team this season,. I’m talking the minds of we supporters, the government that is sponsoring the club and every stakeholder in the state.
''I’m sure our players know what is at stake when they qualify the team for such tourney. Historically Shooting Stars made larger percentage of players that have become great in Nigeria''.
