Published: May 10, 2013
The Chairperson of the Nigeria Women League Board Chief (Mrs) Dilichukwu Onyedinma has described the death of former Super Falcons Head Coach Joseph Ladipo (Jossy Lad) as “one death, too many”.
Mrs. Onyedinma said that the death of the coach is coming barely few days after that of a former Falconets assistant coach Christopher Nwaehi.
''This is another painful loss, considering the fact that we have just lost one of our upcoming vibrant young coaches Christopher Nwaehi few days ago.
''Now we are losing another coach Joseph Ladipo popularly called “Jossy Lad” who contributed positively to the development of women football in the country.
''A complete gentleman, whose contributions as a player and coach can never be forgotten easily in the country.
''We all know his impact as a player of the then IICC Shooting stars of Ibadan, and Coach of Leventis United of Ibadan, a team he brought to limelight by winning the National Challenge cup while playing in the lower division of the national league.
''He also made remarkable impact with the Super Falcons at the Africa Women Championship.
''We would remember him for his fatherly role and technical abilities.
''We pray that God in his infinite mercies should grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss,'' she concluded.
Coach Jossy Lad who had been bedridden for some months, died in Ibadan, Oyo state on Thursday.
