Abdulwaheed Afolabi Undergoes Test With KV Mechelen
Published: May 11, 2013
It has emerged that Nigeria youth international Abdulwaheed Afolabi underwent trials with Belgian Pro League side KV Mechelen in April ahead of a potential move in the summer transfer market.
The 21 - year - old striker participated in two exhibition matches against Lokeren and RAEC Mons.
He was on the score-sheet in the 2 - 1 victory over KSC Lokeren.
It would be recalled that Abdulwaheed Afolabi unilaterally terminated his contract with Kuban Krasnodar after he was banished to the youth team for repeated acts of late-coming for training.
His contract with the Russians was due to expire at the end of 2015 - 2016 season.
Afolabi is represented by highly revered Ukrainian agent Dmitri Selyuk, who also manages ex Dynamo Kiev coach Yuri Semin, Lacina Traore, Yaya Toure and Dele Adeleye.
