Kenya Squad Hit By Injuries

Harambee Stars Coach Adel Amrouche decided to rest the duo of AFC Leopards’ Patillah Omotto and Thika United’s Kennedy Otieno for Thursday morning’s training session after they picked up minor hamstring injuries on Wednesday evening.

''It is not a major concern. They are okay only that I wanted to rest them because of the small injury and make sure that they stay fit.

''They are young players and the future of Kenyan soccer and it is good to preserve their careers and handle it with care,'' Amrouche told Michezoafrika.com.

The Coach says he is impressed with the three weeks he has had players training with him and notes the program as positive enough.

''There has been good progress and the focus is sharp. Players have improved so much and we are looking forward to having a full house,''Amrouche adds.

The Stars will be getting into their final paces of preparations towards the match against Nigeria in the coming week with foreign based players expected to start trickling in by end of week next week, though none has so far confirmed availability.
