Barrister Johnny Ogbah: Blame Amaju Pinnick For Mba's Woes
Published: September 06, 2013
Barrister Johnny Precious Ogbah of Activity Chambers UK hit out at Warri Wolves supremo Amaju Pinnick in an interview with allnigeriasoccer.com following Sunday Mba's failed transfer to CA Bastia.
About two weeks ago, the Nigeria international midfielder traveled to France to sign on the dotted line with the French second - tier side only for Warri Wolves to back out of an earlier agreement both parties had reached.
Before Mba journeyed to France, there was a concrete offer from an unnamed Russian Premier League club, but Pinnick rejected their overtures.
'' I got Mba a better deal in Russia. It was a top division club not division two like Bastia.
'' The club's opening bid for the transfer was $250,000 and they offered him wages of $450,000.
'' Pinnick cut the phone on me so rudely after shouting '$250,000 for a player like Sunday Mba?'
'' I called again, he refused to answer the call. I had to send SMS saying this was just an opening offer, he ignored it.
'' Pinnick says Bastia is a developmental stage. Development for someone who is 25? Rubbish.
'' It is all greed. How can they say they went to Bastia without knowing what was on offer for the player and club?
'' There is more to it than meets the eye,'' Barrister Johnny Precious Ogbah told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.
Following Sunday Mba's outstanding display in February's African Cup of Nations, where he scored in games against Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso, he was one of Africa's highly sought after players.
Now he is desperate to sign for any club in Europe!
