Leon Balogun Parts Company With Fortuna Dusseldorf
Published: May 24, 2014
Nigeria international Leon Balogun is in need of a new club, with 2 Bundesliga campaigners Fortuna Dusseldorf stating through its official channel that it will not be renewing his stay at the Esprit Arena.
After defending the colours of Hannover 96 and Werder Bremen, Leon Balogun penned a two - year contract with Fortuna in the summer of 2012, and went on to record 17 appearances for the side in his first full season.
Then his injury problems started, and as a result, he could only manage 8 starts in the final year of his contract.
This might have contributed to the club’s decision not to extend his contract, with the central defender failing to replicate his performance in the 2012 - 2013 campaign.
Fortuna Dusseldorf thanked Leon Balogun for his professionalism and wished him the best throughout his career.
