Done deal: 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee departs Brighton for Preston North End
Published: July 05, 2025
Preston North End have confirmed the signing of defender Odel Offiah from Brighton & Hove Albion on a permanent deal through a statement on the club's official website.
Odel Offiah, who trained with Golden Eaglets invitee in 2019 before the Fifa U17 World Cup, has joined on a four-year deal from the Premier League side for a seven figure fee.
Oddiah joined Brighton in 2017 and made 10 first-team appearances for the club.
In an interview after his transfer was completed, Odel said: "I'm delighted to be here. I can't wait to get started. It's obviously a massive club and I just can't wait to play in front of the fans and show what I'm capable of."
"Speaking to the gaffer here about where he sees me playing and the role I have in the team, I think we saw eye to eye in terms of how I want to develop as a footballer. This is definitely the right place for me."
Preston have ultimately won the race for the signature of the versatile defender after fending off interest from other Championship clubs.
Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom confirmed his enthusiasm about signing Odel Offiah by saying: "I'm really happy we've managed to bring Odel to the club."
"We kept a close eye on him last season and a number of clubs were after him, so I'm really pleased to have him with us," he concluded.
The Brighton academy graduate joins as Preston's sixth signing of the summer ahead of the 2025-26 season.
