Published: October 08, 2014
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Portuguese club C.D. Nacional are monitoring the situation of Nigeria international Uche Kalu.
The attacking midfielder cum striker is currently a free agent after he terminated his contract with Turkish Super Lig club Rizespor this summer, despite having an agreement binding him to the club until 2016.
Regarded as one of the top players to grace the Nigeria Premier League, the former Enyimba star saw his first team opportunities limited at Rizespor, and was farmed out on loan to Adanaspor in the second half of last season.
And when his loan deal expired, the 27 - year - old decided it was best to cancel his deal with Rizespor, as he was not guaranteed a first team role this season.
Uche Kalu has since parted company with Turkey Football Federation licensed agent Mustafa Sezgin, who recommended him to Rizespor.
He has been proposed by a top Nigerian manager to C.D. Nacional, and the parties are now waiting for feedback from the club.
