Published: August 24, 2015
A day after he completed his transfer to Finnish champions HJK Helsinki, Nigeria international Taye Taiwo made his official debut in the Veikkausliiga.
The Super Eagles left back lasted the distance as HJK played out a 1 - 1 draw with HIFK in front of a sellout crowd of 10,500 fans .
As at Sunday, there was little doubt that Taye Taiwo would be involved today, but the paperwork was completed hours leading up to the game at Sonera Stadium (Helsinki).
Formose Mendy netted a 38th minute goal to give HJK the lead but HIFK leveled matters through Jukka Sinisalo 13 minutes after the restart.
The former Marseille and AC Milan stopper will sport the number 33 jersey until the end of the 2015 season.
