Sporting Kansas City Defender Ike Opara Hopes To Play Again In 2015
Published: August 28, 2015
Sporting Kansas City defender Ike Opara is hopeful that he would return to action before the end of the 2015 season.
For the past four months, the 26 - year - old has been on the sidelines due to a ruptured Achilles tendon which normally keeps players inactive for up to a year.
“It’s a hope,” Ike Opara told MLSsoccer.com.
“That’s my goal, and if I get there, great. If I don’t, I’ll be healthy one way or another.
“If it works in time for the season, great. If not, I’ll just make sure I’m getting prepared for whenever that day is.”
Before injury curtailed his appearances in April, the ex USA Under 23 international was able to make 6 appearances in Major League Soccer, scoring 2 goals.
