Crocked Mainz Defender Balogun Being Considered For Reverse Fixture Against Egypt
Published: March 21, 2016
Mainz 05 stopper Leon Balogun could return to action for the Super Eagles when they face Egypt in Alexandria .
It is all but confirmed that the central defender will sit out Friday’s clash against the North Africans after he sustained a muscular injury days leading up to the game against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.
However, the Nigeria Football Federation has officially stated that Balogun is being programmed for the return leg in Alexandria on Tuesday next week.
Balogun has not featured for the Super Eagles since he went the distance in two international friendlies held in Belgium against Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon in October 2015.
The 27-year-old’s last competitive game for the national team was against Chad last summer.
