Iwobi Says Playing With Arsenal Stars Ozil, Alexis Has Made Him A Better Footballer
Published: March 23, 2016Nigeria national-teamer Alex Iwobi is delighted with the progress he has made at Arsenal and admitted that he thought he was going to be farmed out on loan before the start of the 2015-16 season.
The attacking midfielder has declared that playing with the stars in the Gunners ranks such as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil has made him a better player.
“I thought that I was going to go on loan after the Emirates Cup and have to prove myself in men’s football out on loan,” said Iwobi to arsenal.com.
“You learn things more quickly on loan but when you’re playing with world-class players at Arsenal, training with them every day, you become a better footballer in my opinion.
“You learn a lot more training with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis.”
Alex Iwobi has made 14 appearances for the first team of Arsenal so far this season and was recently named in the starting XI against Barcelona(Champions League) and Everton(Premier League).
