Talented Southampton Striker Olomola Misses Barcelona Scouts
Published: November 05, 2016
Southampton striker Olufela Olomola missed the opportunity to display his wares in Southampton’s 2-1 win over Inter Milan in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Spanish sports daily AS has reported that representatives of Barcelona were at the St. Mary’s Stadium to run the rule over Cedric Soares, who is being linked with a move to the Nou Camp as replacement for another target Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin.
Just as Olomola did not get game time, manager Claude Puel rested Soares and the scouts could not complete their mission in England.
The 19-year-old Nigerian was a non-playing substitute as the Saints were held to a goalless draw by Israeli champs Hapoel Beer Sheva in September.
The former Arsenal youth-teamer later made his first team debut ten days ago in a League Cup clash versus Sunderland.
