Nwofor Confirms Boavista Used Big Security Men To Push Him Out, FIFPro & Fifa Investigate
Published: November 14, 2016
Nigeria international Uche Nwofor, who left Boavista in the summer, confirmed that security operatives of the club had pushed him around on numerous occasions and denied him access to the club facilities.
“I have never seen anything like this. It’s like a mafia operation. They tell you to reduce your salary, when you do not agree, they refuse to pay your salary, block you from training and use big security men to push you out, ” Nwofor said.
“As a foreigner, it was a terrible experience. Imagine, they stopped us from training, even when we are training in the gym security came and forced us to stop training.
“I have so many things that I saw with my eyes, it’s like living in hell. I have played football for many years in the Netherlands and Belgium and I have never experienced or heard of such crazy behavior anywhere in Europe.”
Recall it was previously exposed that Boavista also refused to pay Uche Nwofor’s wages for months.
The club breached FIFA regulations by owing Nwofor several months of salary, signing fees and bonuses.
They also refused to provide the player with any form of professional training which is another clear breach of FIFA rules and regulations.
In the end the striker finally decided that he had enough and moved to save his career by approaching the club to terminate his contract by mutual consent so that he may find another club.
However Fipro and Nwofor’s handlers have made an unbelievable sinister discovery following the termination of Nwofor’s contract.
After agreeing a €110,000 compensation in exchange for the remainder of his contract, Boavista attempted to cheat the Nigerian player and Portuguese authorities by registering a termination agreement with the league body which did not stipulate the €110,000 compensation amount agreed and signed by the player.
After the termination documents were duly signed by the player, Boavista misled the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) by sending a termination document with no mentioning of the compensation monies agreed.
