Published: June 09, 2017
English Premier League side Watford have announced their retained and released list following the end of the 2016-2017 season.
The Hornets have made a strange decision after parting company with one of their most talented teenagers Ogo Obi, who has been hailed as the Nigerian Messi in these parts.
Obi first came to the attention of the local media while undergoing trials with Manchester United in 2014, and the striker had been on the wishlist of Arsenal and Liverpool before training with the Old Trafford outfit.
The 19-year-old is departing Vicarage Road without making a single first team appearance for Watford.
Watford have also announced that former Dream Team VI target Ola Adeyemo can move on to pastures new, as he has not been offered a new contract.
Super Eagles striker Isaac Success and Italy international of Nigerian descent Stefano Okaka were retained by Watford ahead of the start of pre-season training.
