Nigerian Striker, Who Helped Chelsea Win The Treble Last Season, May Be Loaned Out
Published: June 19, 2017
The highly-rated London-born Nigerian striker Ike Ugbo might be loaned out by Premier League champions Chelsea in the new season, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
Born September 21, 1998, the prolific attacker will no longer be eligible to represent Chelsea U18s in the 2017-18 season.
He assisted Chelsea win the FA Youth Cup, Under-18 Premier League South division and the national title last season.
Chelsea higher-ups want Ugbo to follow the same career path as Tammy Abraham and are mulling over the idea of sending him out on loan to a Championship club to continue his development.
The teenager, who joined the Blues as an U10, has found the net 63 times for the U18s, U19s and U23s in the last four seasons.
After more than a year in the international wilderness, Ugbo helped England retain the Toulon Tournament this summer.
