Newcastle Will Not Challenge Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs For England Star With Nigerian Roots
Published: August 05, 2017
Reports suggesting that England international with Nigerian roots Ross Barkley is on the brink of joining Newcastle United are wide of the mark.
The Daily Star claims The Magpies manager Rafa Benitez is not in the market for Barkley, after they emerged as shock candidates to take the 23-year-old off Koeman’s hands after a flurry of bets were placed on a potential deal.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and West Ham have been credited with an interest in the attacking midfielder.
Barkley says he wants to move onto pastures new, having spent the last twelve years of his career with the Goodison Park outfit.
And he will miss Everton's Premier League opener against Stoke City next weekend due to a groin injury.
