Manchester United Throw In The Towel In Their Pursuit Of Real Madrid Winger
Published: August 08, 2017
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has thrown in the towel in his pursuit of Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.
Prior to tonight's Super Cup clash at Telekom Arena, Skopje, the Portuguese had admitted that he will make a move for the Wales international if he was omitted from the starting line-up.
But that wasn't the case as Bale started and impressed during the 74 minutes he spent on the pitch.
''I think clearly the club want him, the manager wants him, and he wants the club,'' Mourinho told BT Sport.
''So for me, it’s game over, even before it started. But game over clearly as I think now everybody knows he wants to stay.''
The 28-year-old Bale arrived the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu outfit from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
