England Star Backs Spurs To Sign English-Born Nigerian Midfielder Ahead Of Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea
Published: August 10, 2017
England star Danny Rose is backing Tottenham Hotspur to sign wantaway Everton midfielder Ross Barkley because he has the pedigree to succeed at the The Lilywhites.
Barkley has been linked with an exit from the Toffees throughout this summer after refusing to sign a new long-term deal, and Spurs face competition from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea for his signature.
''But hearing Ross might be available, well, I have played with and against Ross and bringing him through the door, in itself, would be a huge boost,'' Danny Rose told The Sun.
''I’m a huge fan. In terms of physical stature, right and left foot and trying to get him off the ball, he’s like Mousa Dembele.
''If Ross wants to push on to the next level, Mauricio Pochettino is the best manager to do that — just look how many players he has got into the England squad.''
The stumbling block to Ross Barkley joining Tottenham Hotspur is that they are reluctant to meet his wage demands.
