Published: August 17, 2017
Manchester United are battling Premier League rivals Arsenal in the race for the signature of Brazilian wonderkid Yuri Alberto.
The Santos striker has been named in Brazil's U17 roster for the upcoming friendlies in England against the Young Lions and Guinea or South Africa.
It is envisaged that representatives of the Red Devils and Gunners will observe Alberto at close quarters during the Seleção Sub-17's get-together in the United Kingdom.
The 16-year-old is one of the top talents in South America and has scored more than 80 goals since joining Santos in 2013.
Manchester United and Arsenal are locked in a six-way fight for the signature of Yuri Alberto, with Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juvents and Napoli also interested in signing him.
Last month, the youngster penned his first professional contract which will keep him at Santos until 2020, with a buy-out clause of 50 million euros inserted into the deal.
