Nigerian GK Misses Chance To Show Off To Arsenal, Everton, Southampton
Published: November 01, 2017
Promising Nigerian goalkeeper Emmanuel Idem missed a chance to show off to at least three Premier League clubs in Aston Villa's clash with Newcastle United in the Premier League 2 on Monday.
According to Birmingham Mail, Arsenal, Everton and Southampton posted their scouts to monitor at close quarters the Aston Villa young stars.
Unfortunately for Idem, who was wearing the number thirteen jersey, he did not come off the bench for The Claret and Blue.
In the current campaign, the highly-rated 18-year-old has made Aston Villa's match day squads for Premier League 2 games against Wolves, Boro, Southampton and Newcastle.
Prior to Edem's move to Aston Villa, the London-born netminder previously defended the colours of Arsenal and Stoke City.
He has not conceded a single goal in the U18 Premier League this term, having posted shutouts against Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Fulham.
Sheffield Wednesday plus League One clubs Blackburn Rovers and Northampton Town scouts were also present at The Banks's Stadium (Walsall, West Midlands).
