Mikel Agu Scores Brilliant Goal For Bursaspor In Turkish Cup; Onazi Rested
Published: January 16, 2018
Bursaspor beat Genclerbirligi 2-1 in the Turkish Cup on Tuesday afternoon, with two Nigeria internationals William Troost-Ekong and Mikel Agu going the distance for the home team at Bursa Büyükşehir Belediye Stadyumu.
Petar Skuletic's header gave the visitors the lead in the 19th minute but the hosts restored parity through Mikel fourteen minutes later.
Delarge passed to the Porto loanee inside the box and he took a touch before firing the ball into the roof of the net, Ekong was the first player to congratulate him after his brilliant strike.
Two minutes into the second half, Erdoğan's fine left-footed volley proved to be Bursaspor's match winner.
Mikel has now scored 3 goals in 13 games for Bursaspor, one more than he tallied in 100 matches for Porto, Porto B, Club Brugge and Vitória Setúbal FC.
Elsewhere, Super Eagles assistant captain Eddy Onazi was a non-playing substitute in Trabzonspor's 1-1 draw vs Konyaspor in the same competition.
