Published: February 14, 2018
Sunday Oliseh has responded via Twitter in the wake of his suspension by Fortuna Sittard, saying the Dutch second-tier club severed ties with him because he refused to participate in illegal activities.
According to the board of Fortuna Sittard, the decision to put the 43-year-old Oliseh on non-active is not motivated by the current sporting performances but his frosty relationship with several people in the club.
''I confirm: Due to my refusal to participate in Illegal activities at Fortuna sittard & violate the Law,i have been Suspended from my duties as Coach by the Foreign Owners of Fortuna,'' Oliseh stated.
''Unfortunate for the lovely fans, my players & our hard fought phenomenal positioning for Promotion.''
Jiry Funke, the commercial manager of Fortuna Sittard responded to Oliseh's accusations in a Twitter post which has been deleted : ''Sunday Oliseh is the only one who has committed illegal activities. He intimidated and threatened players and employees and made them ridiculous.''
