Young Nigerian Messi Scores For Cardiff City In PDL
Published: February 15, 2018
Talented Nigerian youngster, Ogo Obi was on target for Cardiff U23s in their 2-0 win over Coventry U23s in a Professional Development League encounter on Thursday afternoon.
The 20-year old opened the scoring for the hosts after 11 minutes, finishing brilliantly into the bottom before going close for a second goal but was denied by a tremendous save by Coventry goalkeeper, Addai.
Midfielder Kadeem Harris added another goal in the 28th minute with another close range effort to ensure the win for the hosts.
Obi completed a move to Cardiff City in the January transfer window following a successful trial.
Whilst he was on the books of Watford he trialed at Manchester United but the Hornets fended off their interest by offering him a professional contract.
Dubbed the 'Nigerian Messi' for his silky footwork and skills, he has represented National League South club Hemel Hempstead in the past.
