Chelsea Confirm Two Fit Nigerian Defenders Will Miss FA Cup Clash
Published: February 16, 2018
Chelsea write on their official website that two Nigerian defenders will not be on parade at Stamford Bridge when they face Hull City in the fifth round of the Emirates Cup on Friday evening.
The Blues have confirmed that Hull City will be without Ola Aina, Fikayo Tomori and Michael Hector, three players that were farmed out on loan to the Championship club in the summer transfer window.
Hull City manager Nigel Adkins admitted pre-match that he's finding it difficult to choose a starting eleven.
''The three Chelsea lads can’t play, nor can Seb Larsson, so that’s four players who have been regulars for us,'' said Adkins.
''That gives other players an opportunity. I know what we’re going to do, but we’ll leave people to discover that when the teamsheet goes in 75 minutes before kick-off.
''It’s a challenging scenario, and like I’ve said we will need a little bit of cup magic to help us.''
Victor Moses is in contention to face the Tigers while Moses Odubajo is still recovering from injury and will not be involved.
