Chelsea Loanee Ola Aina: Victor Moses Among The Quality Players In Super Eagles
Published: February 16, 2018
Chelsea loanee Ola Aina has commented on making his full debut for the Nigerian national team and has named teammate Victor Moses among the key players in the Super Eagles.
With Monaco defender Elderson Echiejile ruled out of the World Cup qualifier against Algeria due to injury, manager Gernot Rohr deployed Aina as the left-back against the North Africans last November.
''That was another proud moment for me. It’s been going really well so far. My full debut was away to Algeria,'' Ola Aina said to Chelsea's official website.
''We had already qualified for the World Cup so I wasn’t really nervous, but it was good to get out there and play.''
Aina went on : ''The fans are so passionate and it’s a big honour to represent them. The country is football mad and you feel that just putting on the shirt.
''We have some quality players in our team, including Victor, and I am looking forward to what is in store for us. ''
Prior to his competitive debut for the three-time African champions, Aina captained England at U19 level and represented their U16, U17, U18 and U20 teams.
