Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has revealed that Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham may not leave the club on loan this summer, and will stay on with the team till at least January.

Abraham, 20 has had to play a bit-part role for the Blues first team at Stamford Bridge, with established options Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud above him in Sarri's pecking order.

His future has come under stern speculations throughout the summer, with Aston Villa particularly interested in taking the Camberwell-born starlet on a temporary basis.

But the gaffer, with his words thinks he can remain with the team if he is happy till next year.

''It is up to him", the Italian told the club's official website ahead of their Premier League clash with Newcastle.

''If he wants to remain, we are very happy with him and so I think until January he will stay with us."

Having recently returned from injury, the striker captained the club's U23s in a narrow 1-0 loss to Derby County in the PL 2 on Friday evening.
