Arsenal Coach Emery Invites Teenage Nigerian Left Back To Train With First Team
Published: October 18, 2018Arsenal coach Unai Emery observed Nigerian left back Tolaji Bola,19, at close quarters during the club's training session in Hertfordshire on Wednesday morning.
With several Gunners international players yet to return to the club, including our own Alex Iwobi, Bola was called up to train with the first team, along with the versatile defender Tobi Omole.
Arsenal's first choice left back Nacho Monreal was part of the session as well as Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles who are behind the Spaniard in Emery's pecking order.
Therefore, Bola is unlikely to make his professional debut when Arsenal tackle Wilfred Ndidi's Leicester City at the Emirates on Monday, October 22 in the Premier League.
A physical fullback, he penned a scholarship with the Gunners in 2015 before signing his first professional contract with the North London club the following year.
The Arsenal U23 star has represented England at U16, U17 and U18 level.
